Now Hiring: Legislative Research Analyst (Remote | Temporary)
We are partnering with a leading global law firm that is seeking an experienced Legislative Research Analyst to join its Research Services Department on a temporary basis.
This position supports attorneys and professional staff across the firm by providing sophisticated legislative, regulatory, legal, business, and scientific research services. Please note that this is a Research Services/Library role and is not a policy analyst position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct legislative and regulatory research across federal, state, and international jurisdictions using a variety of print and electronic resources.
• Perform legislative history research and analyze regulatory materials.
• Support attorneys and staff with complex legal, business, and scientific research requests.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in legislative and regulatory research.
• Partner with research colleagues globally to deliver high-quality research support.
• Act as a liaison to practice groups by providing research assistance, training, and guidance on research tools and resources.
• Participate in collection development and evaluate emerging research technologies and information products.
• Create research documentation, training materials, and orientation resources.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• MLS/MLIS required.
• Minimum of 3 years of legal research experience in a law library environment.
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the federal legislative process, government documents, Capitol Hill procedures, and legislative information resources.
• Experience with Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Government, Politico Pro, VitalLaw, HeinOnline, and ProQuest.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong client service orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
