We are looking to expand our security team by hiring proactive, committed, and suitably qualified individuals. As a Security Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and property across our complex, hotels, and retail spaces. You will play a critical role in monitoring and controlling access, patrolling the premises, and managing emergency situations with professionalism.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring control of staff entrances.
- Operating, checking and monitoring the CCTV system.
- Patrolling the complex and hotels on a regular basis ensuring fire exits are clear and free from obstruction.
- Supporting evacuation of the hotels during fire alarms.
- Ensuring hotel facilities and function rooms remain secure and locked when not in use.
- Maintain the Security logbook and Incident Reports.
- Investigating and reporting all allegations of theft, criminal damage and other incidents.
- Managing undesirable behaviour in a professional manner.
- Reporting any maintenance or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
- Adhering to all Health and Safety Regulations.
- Assisting in evacuation and emergency preparedness processes and exercises.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of security experience, preferably within the hotel industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
- Private guard license, issued by the Malta police force.
- Be in good physical condition.
- First Aid qualification.
- Must be knowledgeable about fire procedures, bomb threats and hotel evacuation procedures.
- Should be well versed in local law/government regulation.
