Scope of role

The Security Operation Lead all security operations, supervisors and systems, are working effectively. Procedural training and incident management requirements are implemented, and immediate action and reports are sent on time. He implements, coordinates and controls activities which provide a variety of (external project) physical and technical security services. The post holder will be responsible for managing the interface between the Operations, Support and Technical departments daily and the scope of work for all posts in coordination with NGHC EHS&S management and client contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Management

  • Setting Project plans and programs as part of the EHS&S Department plan in order to achieve the functional strategies
  • Defining plans for developing and increasing productivity for the project and, after approval, implementing
  • To ensure the highest possible standard of service and to minimize complaints
  • Managing the administrative functions of training, supply, maintenance, fault reporting
  • To ensure that all project security staff comply with company policies and procedures
  • To keep the EHS&S Security Director advised on all matters of importance and to refer to him problems which cannot be solved locally
  • To ensure that reports and returns are submitted on time
  • To keep updated on all developments in NGHC that may result in operational change
  • To ensure the correct use of company security vehicles and other assets are properly maintained, all accidents, faults and losses are investigated, and disciplinary action taken where appropriate
  • Correspondence is acknowledged or dealt with within 24 hrs of receipt
  • Reports and returns are submitted by the due date

HR

  • Define and plan the human and material resources needed with NGHC HR department
  • To plan and maintain the security project at full strength
  • All training commitments including initial, OJT and career training requirements for security personnel are fulfilled
  • Turnover of operational staff is kept to a minimum and is not greater than 12% per annum
  • To motivate staff to achieve career path development and identify and develop those with promotional potential
  • To plan and organize holiday rotors so that there is a minimum interference with operational efficiency

Operations

  • Planning, developing, and approving specific operational programs, procedures and methods
  • Controlling the operational performance of the Project and meeting the Key Performance Indicators for monitoring the performance of the facility
  • Issuing regulations, technical and administrative decisions which implement the approved NGHC policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the implemented methods and procedures, assessing and monitoring workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships
  • Supporting NGHC staff in terms of professional development, risk decision taking, operations and training
  • To effect frequent ‘spot’ checks on assignments to ensure that high standards are being maintained
  • Organize monthly operational meetings and attend others as required to effectively monitor operational activities of the facility
  • Adherence to the Quality Management System procedures and its performance

Security Investigations

Incident Detection & Response

  • Leading investigations into security incidents, including cyber threats, data breaches, and physical security violations
  • Coordinating with security teams to contain and mitigate threats
  • Conducting forensic analysis to determine the root cause of an incident

Coordination & Communication

  • Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including executives, IT teams, legal, and law enforcement if necessary
  • Communicating findings, risks, and remediation steps to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensuring incident response procedures align with organizational policies and compliance requirements

Evidence Collection & Forensics

  • Collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence
  • Ensuring chain-of-custody procedures are followed for potential legal proceedings
  • Using forensic tools to reconstruct attack timelines and methodologies

Risk Assessment & Mitigation

  • Identifying vulnerabilities exploited in an incident and recommending security improvements.
  • Assessing the potential impact of security incidents on business operations
  • Working with cybersecurity teams to implement corrective measures

Documentation & Reporting

  • Preparing detailed incident reports, including findings, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies
  • Maintaining logs of security incidents for future reference and compliance audits
  • Conducting post-incident reviews to improve response strategies

Skills and Competencies

  • Fully understand and manage the interface between the Technical Department, the Operational Department and the requirements of the Support Department to ensure that all security activities properly manage the security of the project site and provide senior management with the necessary information to meet their reporting targets

 

Educational Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, or a related field or A high-grade degree or significant operational management experience
  • 10–15 years in industrial or critical infrastructure security.
  • Minimum 5 years in leadership role managing large guard force.
  • Have received leadership and man management training or show an aptitude for operational leadership
  • The applicant must have a good working knowledge of English and be able to read and write in English
  • A clear, concise and effective written ability in Arabic and an ability to debate and discuss professionally and accurately
  • Fully developed computer skills in Microsoft programmes.

Preferred Experience

  • A professional knowledge of the implications of understanding and implementing policies and procedures
  • Accepted international Project Management qualification (PMP, Six Sigma. Prince2)
  • A skilled professional with prior experience gained in a security or managed environment
  • Understanding of EHS&S requirements of NGHC
  • Excellent working knowledge or the ability to absorb the operation of technical systems
  • The ability to concentrate and operate in a key position within the Security structure of NGHC
  • Ability to fully comprehend the security operations of NGHC

Specific Occupational Requirements

  • Must hold or have the ability to hold a current valid Security License as may be required
  • Hold a valid driving licence with proof of safer driving for the last 24 months
  • Able to produce a 5-year verifiable work history
