Role Summary

Provides end‑to‑end accounting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance support to ensure smooth service delivery for Acclime’s clients in Lao PDR.

The role strengthens in‑country technical capability, reduces reliance on regional support, and ensures timely, accurate, and compliant accounting and tax operations. This aligns with Acclime’s Value Creation Plan (VCP) initiative on Operational Efficiency & Risk Management, ensuring continuity of bookkeeping, tax compliance, and statutory filing services.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Understand the client’s business nature through regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain clients' accounting records using cloud accounting systems and local accounting software (e.g., BansiLa and APIS), while coordinating with clients and software vendors to ensure accurate system configuration and ongoing maintenance.
  • Perform data entry and prepare finalized financial statements, monthly management reports, including SOPL, SOFP, GL, Cash & Bank Book, and other supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain an appropriate Chart of Accounts (CoA) based on clients' business operations and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate recording, allocation, reconciliation and maintenance of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Review financial information and prepare financial analysis to highlight key trends, variances and financial performance for management and clients.
  • Prepare and monitor daily, weekly and monthly cash flow reports where required by clients.
  • Present and explain financial reports to clients through meetings or presentations where required.
  • Ensure 100% on‑time completion of monthly accounting deliverables and statutory filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate annual audit requirements and support statutory reporting.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Coordination

  • Manage all tax matters for clients, including PIT, CIT, VAT, WHT, and any business‑specific taxes.
  • Visit banks and tax offices when required for transfers, declarations, or documentation submission.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and tax authorities to obtain transaction information and supporting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Lao PDR regulatory requirements and mitigate risks of penalties or filing delays.

Client Support, Reporting & Operational Efficiency

  • Provide proactive client support and maintain uninterrupted service delivery for assigned portfolios.
  • Liaise with the Regional Finance Manager to improve financial procedures and reporting quality.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports on completed and pending tasks.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of client engagements and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Work closely with the Country Manager on licensing, submissions, and investment‑related matters.
  • Support government relations processes and raise compliance awareness within the team.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned by the Country Manager.

Required Experience & Skills

Experience & Qualifications

Must Have

  • 3–4 years of professional experience in accounting and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken).

Highly Desirable

  • Experience using cloud accounting systems (e.g., Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage 50) and Lao accounting software such as BansiLa or APIS.
  • Prior experience working in an accounting or tax consulting firm.
  • Knowledge of Lao PDR tax regulations and statutory filing processes.
  • Experience supporting international clients or cross‑border reporting.
  • Capability to handle more complex accounting engagements as the team expands.
