About the Role
The successful candidate will be part of SHEIN’s Policy and Strategy team in Singapore, supporting global ESG public policy work. The role will focus on monitoring and assessing ESG policy and regulatory developments, supporting compliance with select ESG regulations of global impact, strengthening SHEIN’s ESG governance and reporting readiness, developing strategic ESG partnerships, and enhancing SHEIN’s ESG corporate narratives and external visibility.
The candidate will work closely with global and market-based Government Relations, Public Relations, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, and business/operational teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Track, analyse, and assess ESG policy and regulatory developments across SHEIN’s global markets, with a focus on regulations and policy issues that may have significant business, operational, reporting, reputational, or compliance implications.
- Support the development of recommendations to senior management and relevant internal teams on strategies to manage ESG policy risks, prepare for high-impact policy and regulatory developments, and support advocacy actions where appropriate.
- Drive and coordinate cross-functional workplans with internal teams to support SHEIN’s compliance with select ESG regulations with global impact.
- Support efforts to enhance SHEIN’s readiness to meet ESG reporting requirements, including by strengthening internal ESG governance structures, processes, data readiness, and coordination on priority ESG topics.
- Support the development of SHEIN’s annual sustainability and social impact report, ESG-related disclosures, and other strategic communications materials that strengthen SHEIN’s ESG positioning, corporate narratives, visibility, and external profiling.
- Support the development and management of strategic partnerships with key ESG-related global stakeholders (e.g. non-governmental and international organisations, industry associations, government officials, regulators, and business organisations) to build trust, strengthen reputation, and advance SHEIN’s ESG priorities.
- Work closely with relevant internal teams to communicate key ESG projects, initiatives, and policy positions to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in ESG, Environmental Policy, International Relations, Public Policy, Sustainability, Law, Political Science, or related fields.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant working experience for the Senior Associate level, or at least 6 years for the Manager level, in ESG-related fields, corporate/public affairs, government relations, public policy, sustainability, or regulatory compliance.
- Experience in public policy research, regulatory analysis, ESG reporting, sustainability governance, or regulatory compliance in the public or private sector.
- Exposure to strategy work within a government agency, international organisation, industry association, consultancy, or corporation would be advantageous.
- Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects, partnerships, reports, and policy-related workstreams.
- Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral) and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures, functions, and markets
- Ability to multi-task, operate with strong attention to detail, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
