Strategy
- Develop executive truck route plans using the Freight Model and AI driven demand forecasts, balancing
- logistics efficiency with network capacity and safety.
- Recommend regulations on curfews, axle load control, truck free zones, and dedicated freight corridors,
- benchmarking Norway, Singapore, and London practices.
- Lead multi-agency committees to align freight strategies, PPP opportunities, and future technologies
- such as autonomous freight and digital signage.
- Advise on legislation, licensing standards, and RTA technical manuals to integrate smart mobility,
- predictive safety, and soft mobility principles.
- Operations
- Coordinate with ports, airports, and Etihad Rail to build and maintain a freight traffic data platform;
- analyze trends and issue evidence-based solutions.
- Conduct engineering studies for truck rest areas, weight stations, dedicated lanes, and logistics hubs;
- secure approvals and supervise implementation.
- Review Level 2 traffic impact studies, permits, and road project designs to ensure freight facilities and
- signage meet RTA specifications.
- Investigate complaints, accident data, and congestion hot-spots; provide rapid engineering remedies and stakeholder briefings.
- Draft terms of reference, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for freight infrastructure and smart system projects.
- Represent RTA in local and international forums, presenting technical papers on predictive freight analytics and autonomous monitoring.
Product / Process Improvement
- Design and update GIS heat maps, freight dashboards, and machine learning models to predict demand, optimize routing, and trigger real-time alerts.
- Propose quick win engineering or policy measures to mitigate truck related congestion and safety risks.
- Continuously review global innovations—smart truck tracking, electric freight corridors—and pilot suitable technologies within Dubai.
Physical Working Conditions
- Primarily office based with frequent site inspections of corridors, rest areas, and logistics hubs, plus regular meetings with external agencies and investors.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Transportation Planning or Logistics Management; master’s degree/Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or Urban Planning.
Experience:
5+ in case of Ph.D (7+ Years in case of Master’s degree, 10+ years in case of Bachelor’s degree) in related field
Qualification:
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), ArcGIS
