The Senior Contract and Service Development Officer supports the Manager in managing and delivering contract and service development outcomes across a range of Community Services programs and initiatives, within their area of operation. The position requires high level contract and service development capabilities, skill and experience.

The Senior Contract and Service Development Officer will assist the department to achieve its vision through a performance driven and customer focused culture that delivers results, whilst displaying the core public sector values of customers first; ideas into action; unleash potential; be courageous; and empower people.

The position requires a person who will take personal responsibility for serving the government of the day and meeting the needs of the people and communities of Queensland.

As Senior Contract and Service Development Officer you will (but not limited to):

  • Contribute to the provision of sound strategic and operational advice to senior management on contract administration, service procurement, service monitoring and capacity development as this relates to achieving Community Services program outcomes.
  • Deliver contract performance and review processes including contributing to evaluation and selection of suppliers in partnership with various business areas.
  • Monitor systems and strategies to ensure remedial action is taken and non-compliance issues are addressed in a scaled and appropriate manner.
  • Actively participate in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders within and across government and broader human services networks.
  • Support the preparation of a range of written materials that support advice to government, including correspondence, briefing material, and information papers concerned with the initiatives delivered by the work area.
  • Contribute to a professional environment through personal commitment to, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
  • As a member of the team, undertake tasks allocated by the Manager in a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery.
  • Professionally represent the department at forums and meetings as required.

Your Mandatory Requirements

  • Possession of or able to obtain a blue card administered by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency
  • Travel is a requirement of this position, including visiting remote communities.
  • Possession of a current “C” Class Drivers licence.
  • Formal procurement, purchasing and/or contract management accreditation is well regarded (i.e. Queensland Purchasing, QGCPO, CIPS or similar), or have the ability to acquire this accreditation.
