THE ROLE
FORTREX is seeking Senior Correspondents to conduct on-camera interviews with the most senior government officials and other relevant officials and consultants in the United States. This is not a staff position. It is a selective, project-based engagement for an experienced correspondent who has already operated at the highest levels of journalism, government, or policy media — and who understands the difference between an interview and a conversation.
This is not a paid role. There is no salary, stipend, or fee.
FORTREX does not operate on traditional media economics — or within a traditional media environment. This is not panel-driven television. It is not scripted Q&A. And it is not performative journalism. This is a controlled, conversational setting designed to produce real dialogue — the kind that happens when senior officials are not speaking for headlines, but from experience.
What this role offers is access — direct, unfiltered, and unavailable anywhere else — to the individuals who shape U.S. policy, intelligence, and global strategy.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Correspondents will conduct long-form, on-camera interviews with FORTREX members and produce original content for the FORTREX VUALT — the network's private intelligence and media platform. Interviews are conducted in a conversational format. This is not scripted Q&A. It requires the ability to hold a room, follow a thread, and draw out perspective from individuals who do not speak publicly.
The individuals you will sit across from include:
Commanding Generals. Executive Directors. Deputy Directors. Senior Intelligence Officers. Chiefs of Staff. Vice Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs, Government Consultants. Senior Officials from CIA, NSA, DHS, FBI, State, DOD, CMS USAID, Treasury, DOJ, and the United States Congress.
You will not find this access in traditional media.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This role is designed for a working correspondent, journalist, or media professional who has covered national security, government, foreign policy, or defense at a serious level — and who can enter an executive environment with immediate credibility.
The right candidate brings:
On-camera experience conducting unscripted, long-form interviews with officials, executives, or public figures. Subject matter fluency across geopolitics, current events and news, national security, government operations, and U.S. policy. Editorial judgment calibrated to institutional credibility and neutrality. The composure and discretion required to operate in a confidential, invitation-only environment. Published or broadcast work in national, policy-focused, or other credentialed industry outlets.
This is not an entry-level opportunity. It is not a development role. If you have done this work at a high level, you will recognize what this is immediately.
ENGAGEMENT STRUCTURE
This is a part-time, project-based contributor engagement — up to 10 hours per week. Compensation is structured around access and positioning at the highest levels of American government and private sector leadership, in an environment that does not exist in traditional media.
