At WRKR, you'll help protect a platform used by more than 3 million Australian workers, processing highly sensitive identity, payroll, banking and superannuation data every day. With plans to scale to 7 million users over the coming years, this role won't be short of challenges!
We're looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst who loves solving complex problems, connecting seemingly unrelated signals, and uncovering threats before they become incidents.

This role allows you to influence how security evolves across the entire platform and combines elements of:

What You'll Be Working On
Your week will be a mix of investigation, analysis, threat detection and collaboration. You'll spend time:
Investigating Security Events
- Analysing SIEM alerts and endpoint telemetry
- Investigating suspicious authentication activity
- Identifying indicators of compromise
- Responding to security incidents
Threat Hunting
- Looking for emerging attack patterns
- Identifying behavioural anomalies
- Developing hypotheses and validating them through evidence
- Improving detection capability across the platform
Identity & Fraud Analysis
- Account takeover investigations
- Identity abuse and credential compromise
- Authentication anomalies
- Fraud pattern detection
Detection Engineering
- Improving correlation rules
- Reducing alert fatigue
- Enhancing visibility across the platform
- Building more effective monitoring and response workflows
Partnering With Product & Engineering
This isn't a role that sits in a corner reviewing logs. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product and Leadership teams to:
- Assess security risks
- Improve customer journeys
- Strengthen fraud controls
- Influence platform design decisions

What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Strong Security Operations Centre (SOC) experience
- Experience with threat detection, incident investigation and threat hunting
- Hands-on experience working with SIEM platforms
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset
- Ability to gather evidence, form hypotheses and determine root cause
- Comfortable operating independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative approach to problem solving
- Product-minded approach to security
- Ability to influence outcomes rather than simply identify issues
Nice to Have:
- Financial services, payments or superannuation experience
- Experience with identity verification platforms
- Knowledge of tools such as Transmit Security, FrankieOne or similar
- Experience within a product-led technology company
- Exposure to identity, fraud or authentication systems
