Job Overview:
Support the Legal & Compliance Department in handling company legal affairs, especially for Visa and work permits, regulatory requirements, and coordination with governmental authorities to ensure smooth business operations in Iraq.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Relations & Licensing:
•Manage visa, residency, and work permit applications and renewals for expatriates.
•Apply for, obtain, and renew company licenses, permits, and IDs (e.g., Tax ID, Traffic Entry Badge, Business Activity Practice Licenses).
•Handle import-related registrations and licenses.
•Follow up on trademark registrations, and protection of the IP rights of the company.
•Transfer ownership of company assets (e.g., vehicles at the Traffic Police Department).
•Address customs-related issues and support other regulatory matters impacting operations.
•Act as the company’s legal representative in communications with government entities.
2. Legal Support:
•Prepare, review, and summarize contracts, MoUs, MoMs, and letters to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
•Draft official letters and legal correspondence with stakeholders.
•Conduct legal studies and monitor new or proposed legislation, providing advice to management.
•Provide legal assistance for government-related requirements affecting company operations.
3. Compliance:
•Deliver compliance training to staff and foster a culture of compliance across departments.
•Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
•Review materials, presentations, and websites for regulatory compliance.
•Prepare reports on compliance risks and escalating issues where needed.
•Assist in responding to regulatory requests and audits.
4. Administration & Coordination:
•Maintain organized files and documentation for legal and compliance activities.
•Support communication and coordination with government bodies.
•Assist in general administrative duties related to the department.
•Perform other related tasks as assigned to support company operations.
Skills and Competencies:
- Solid knowledge of Iraqi corporate, tax, labor, and regulatory frameworks.
- Good legal experience in corporate and commercial matters.
- Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and reporting legal documents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting timelines and deadlines.
- IT literate with excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience and Qualification:
- Total Professional Experience: At least 5–6 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, or government relations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- Nationality: Iraqi.
