To support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in ensuring that the requirements of the GCAA Aerodrome Certificate and GCAA Regulatory requirements are met through the effective implementation and monitoring of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in maintaining the GCAA Aerodrome Certificate through the effective implementation and monitoring of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in developing, reviewing, updating and communicating safety policies, manuals, procedures and ensure that they are continually reviewed in order to meet the Aerodrome Certificate and GCAA Regulatory Requirements.
- Support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in developing strategic safety objectives and key performance indicators for the aerodrome.
- Support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in identifying safety risks that require escalation to senior management through the relevant management safety review meetings.
- Ensure compliance with objectives, standards and measurements, regulatory requirements, international standards and best practice.
- Monitor safety performance against the strategic safety objectives and key performance indicators and providing reports to the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager.
- Chair regular safety meetings and forums with key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Manage and maintain the hazard reporting log ensuring close out of issues within appropriate time frames.
- Update and maintain the Aerodrome/ SMS manuals and procedures as per regulatory requirements.
- Assist the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager with the preparation of safety related reports, safety assessments and safety cases for submittal to Senior Management and the GCAA.
- Assist the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in the development and implementation of safety campaign and awareness programs.
- Continually monitor the full compliance to the Aerodrome and Safety Management System Manuals while providing oversight, guidance and assistance to other Departments and stakeholders as required.
- Ensure that significant changes are managed through the Management of Change Process.
