Role Description The Senior Program Manager (Milcon) is a full-time, on-site role based in Oceanside, CA, responsible for leading complex Military Construction (Milcon) technology programs from planning through execution and closeout. This role coordinates cross-functional project teams, manages budgets, schedules, and risks, and ensures compliance with contract requirements, DoD standards, and applicable regulations. The Senior Program Manager (Milcon) will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, CDW•G account teams, engineering, and vendors to define program scope, align IT infrastructure solutions with Milcon project timelines, and track delivery milestones. Day-to-day work includes developing and maintaining program plans, preparing status reports and briefings, managing change requests, and addressing issues that may affect cost, schedule, or performance. The role also involves mentoring junior project managers, contributing to process improvements, and supporting business development efforts related to Milcon and federal program opportunities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in program and project management for large, complex construction or infrastructure programs, preferably Milcon or federal/DoD projects.
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management using industry-standard tools and methodologies (e.g., PMP or equivalent practices).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with government customers, contractors, technical teams, and senior leadership.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition processes, contract management, and compliance requirements relevant to DoD and Milcon programs.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and systems integration in built environments (e.g., networking, data center, security, collaboration solutions) or willingness to quickly develop this expertise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear reports, briefings, and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
