Your new company
Hays is partnering with a progressive local council in South-West Sydney to recruit a Strategic Planner. This position will support the delivery of key strategic planning initiatives, with a focus on policy development, place-based planning and growth strategy within a rapidly developing region.
Your new role
- Preparation of planning proposals, local planning instruments and DCPs
- Involvement in precinct, structure and master planning projects
- Supporting rezoning and strategic growth initiatives
- Engaging with community, developers and government stakeholders
- Prepare and review strategic planning documentation and policy frameworks
- Assess and negotiate planning proposals and strategic matters
- Provide professional advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Undertake community engagement and consultation activities
- Contribute to reports for Council and senior leadership
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Town Planning or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in strategic or policy planning
- Strong knowledge of the NSW planning framework (LEPs/DCPs)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
