The Northern Territory Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking an experienced criminal lawyer and advocate to join our team as a Summary Prosecutor.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the criminal justice system while developing your advocacy skills across a broad range of matters. You will work within a highly professional and supportive environment, contributing to the fair and effective administration of justice in the Northern Territory.

About the Role

As a Summary Prosecutor, you will conduct and appear in a wide variety of criminal proceedings before the Local Court, including:

  • Bail and arrest matters
  • Directions hearings
  • Youth prosecutions
  • Preliminary examinations
  • Bail applications and hearings
  • Appeals

You will also have the opportunity to instruct counsel in Supreme Court trials and work on complex and significant prosecutions.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced criminal lawyer with strong advocacy skills and proven experience appearing in lower court jurisdictions.

  • Strong advocacy skills and experience conducting hearings
