UNDP Angola promotes inclusive growth, resilience, and sustainable resource management. This assignment supports the Kurima initiative, which strengthens rural livelihoods and youth employment along the Lobito Corridor through agribusiness, digital agriculture, and market access.
The role focuses on empowering youth and women, enhancing institutional capacity, and promoting climate-smart and technology-driven solutions. It also contributes to Angola–Japan cooperation (TICAD/JSB), including knowledge transfer and application of KAIZEN practices.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation & Coordination
- Support delivery of livelihoods, agribusiness, and cooperative activities
- Coordinate with government, private sector, and community stakeholders
- Assist training, mentoring, and enterprise support initiatives
Institutional Capacity Development
- Strengthen cooperatives and local institutions
- Support capacity-building in sustainable agriculture and agribusiness
- Promote KAIZEN and continuous improvement approaches
Livelihoods & Enterprise Support
- Support youth- and women-led enterprises
- Assist in selection, mentoring, and monitoring processes
- Strengthen market access and value chain participation
Knowledge Management & Reporting
- Prepare reports and knowledge products
- Document lessons learned and best practices
- Support monitoring and evaluation
Partnerships & Coordination
- Engage with government, private sector, and development partners
- Facilitate collaboration with international and Japanese stakeholders
- Support workshops and stakeholder consultations
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- Education: Bachelor’s in development, economics, agriculture, rural development, or related
- Languages: English – Fluent (required)

- Institutional capacity-building and project coordination

- Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills

Volunteer Living Allowance: currently US$ 3,050 to US$ 3,500
UN Volunteers serve full-time in their professional expertise, supported by a benefits package, including a monthly living allowance to ensure a secure standard of living at their duty stations. These allowances are not intended as compensation, reward, or salary for the volunteer's service.
