Job Title: Tender/Bid manager – Aviation/Airport infrastructure projects
Qualification and experience: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with similar experience in 10-15 years , specifically managing bids for large scale Airport projects in the renowned EPC and PPP framework.
Bid manager-Aviation is responsible for leading the end to end management process for airport development projects across India and International projects. He should understand the master planning, airside/landside infrastructure , terminal planning and specialized airport systems. He will orchestrate a multi-disciplinary team comprising design engineers, quantity surveyors, legal, procurement and all other teams to develop competitive, compliant and winning proposal.
Key responsibility:
- Bid strategy and win planning: Lead the bid strategy to identify the unique value proposition like construction capabilities and sustainable engineering.
- Stake holder co-ordination: Act as central point of contact and manage the inputs from internal departments (Engg, Finance, Legal, Contracts, Procurement etc) and external partners( Consortium partners, Subcontractors, Consultants etc) to ensure a unified and high quality proposals.
- Commercial and technical synthesis: Prepare the detailed cost estimates, BOQ and financial models adhering to client specs, in-line with the aviation standards like ICAO, FAA and local aviation standards.
- Risk and compliance management: Identify project specific risks (eg. site logistics, security constraints and supply chain bottlenecks). Developing the robust risk mitigation strategies.
- Regulatory and procurement knowledge: Navigate the complexities of International/national bidding processes including PPP frameworks and government procurement regulations.
- Proposal delivery: Manage the formal submission process including the preparation of executive summaries, technical narratives and commercial schedules by ensuring 100% compliance with submission deadlines and formats.
Desired profile:
- Qualification and experience: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with similar experience in 10-15 years with atleast 5-7 years specifically managing bids for large scale Airport projects in the renowned EPC and PPP framework.
- Industry knowledge: Deep understanding of airport infrastructure lifecycle (Terminal, Runway, Airside, MEP and Airport systems). Familiarity with Exim, JICA, world bank or similar funding agency bidding guidelines which is highly desirable.
- Technical skills: Expertise in cost estimation software if any, MSP/Primavera and advance proficiency in office/adobe tools.
- Soft skills : Exceptional leadership to drive cross functional teams, high pressure resilience and sophisticated communication skills to influence decision makers.
- Competencies: Should understand airport Operations to develop the phasing plan during Bid, consortium management & JVs & airport various regulatory proficiency.
