Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time foreign exchange market rates in Zambia. Maintain regular communication with multiple local partner banks to acquire real-time FX quotes, trading limits and market policy updates, compare and select the most favorable exchange rates to coordinate corporate foreign exchange conversion activities.
- Analyze global FX market trends including the US Dollar Index, Federal Reserve monetary policies and global commodity market movements. Closely track foreign exchange control policies, new exchange rate regulations and FX declaration requirements issued by the Bank of Zambia (BOZ). Keep a close watch on ZMW exchange rate fluctuations, identify foreign exchange risks, compile regular FX risk analysis reports and issue timely risk alerts to the team.
- Take overall charge of the full lifecycle of corporate insurance businesses, including insurance procurement, annual policy renewal and claim settlement. Sort out existing operational procedures, establish standardized and implementable SOPs for insurance management, and standardize account records, document filing and approval workflows.
- Develop new local insurance cooperation channels in Zambia. Based on the Group’s existing insurance operation model, research and screen high-quality local insurance providers, conduct business negotiations, optimize insurance procurement solutions and reduce overall corporate insurance costs.
- Manage daily supporting treasury work in Zambia including treasury ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation and foreign exchange declaration. Support the East Africa Treasury Manager to implement regional treasury coordination, capital risk control and other ad-hoc assignments.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on working experience in corporate treasury management, foreign exchange operations or corporate insurance administration within large enterprises. Candidates with prior treasury working experience in Zambia are prioritized.
- Language: Proficient in English as a working language for independent business communication with banks and insurance providers.
- Technical Competencies: Familiar with BOZ foreign exchange regulatory policies and local bank FX settlement procedures; well-versed in end-to-end insurance operations including procurement, renewal and claims handling; capable of analyzing exchange rate trends and identifying capital risks, with strong logical thinking and data sensitivity.
- Personal Attributes: Meticulous and rigorous, equipped with outstanding business communication and negotiation skills to liaise with banks, insurance firms and regulatory authorities independently. Able to work under pressure and concurrently manage both foreign exchange and insurance portfolios.
