Utility Billing Specialist – Temporary Jobs in Scottsdale, USA at City-of-Scottsdale
About the Position
A Utility Billing Specialist is responsible for answering customer calls and ensuring all customers are billed timely and accurately. This includes adjusting, analyzing, and correcting utility billing discrepancies; data entry; reviewing reports to identify billing errors and quality controls; identifying unusual utility account activity and making necessary adjustments. This is a full‑time temporary assignment that lasts up to 12 months.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
- One year of customer service experience with the public including clerical work.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job‑related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale must reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of remote work approval.
The City of Scottsdale offers

- Vacation accrual: 10.3 hours per month, eligible immediately after accrual.
