About PolicyPartner

PolicyPartner is a Washington, DC-based advisory and advocacy firm focused on fintech, digital assets, payments, and banking. We work directly with institutional investors, executives, and legal and government relations teams, translating regulatory and legislative change into decisions our clients can act on.

We lead with analysis: every engagement starts with the client's business model mapped against forward-looking regulatory scenarios.

Our team operates with high ownership and direct client exposure. This role offers real responsibility from day one — leading work for sophisticated clients, not just supporting it.

The Role

You will serve as a core member of our advisory and advocacy team, working across client delivery and business development. Day to day, that means:

  • Tracking and analyzing regulatory and legislative developments across the SEC, CFTC, banking regulators, and Congress, and turning them into clear, decision-ready insight for clients
  • Leading and supporting client calls, briefings, and written deliverables on digital assets, market structure, payments, and banking policy
  • Maintaining and building relationships with agency staff, Hill offices, and industry counterparts to advance client objectives
  • Supporting business development — identifying prospects, shaping pitches, and helping convert relationships into advisory engagements
  • Contributing to firm-wide projects: events, research products, and internal tooling
  • Four days a week in-person in our upper Northwest Washington, DC office

Who You Are

  • Government and private sector experience. You have a strong understanding of government processes and have either worked in government or have extensive experience in lobbying at the federal level.
  • Administration contacts. You have current, working relationships with staff at regulatory agencies and the judgment to use them well.
  • Strong understanding of congressional processes. You understand how legislation moves — committee dynamics, floor strategy, amendment processes, and the underlying politics influencing such processes — particularly on financial services and digital asset issues.
  • Entrepreneurial. You approach your work as if you were an owner of the business. You act and use sound judgement to advance the long term interests of the firm.
  • Strong Writing Abilities with Excellent Attention to Detail. You can produce high-quality work products that are clear, concise, and free of errors. You are comfortable providing written work products that are well-researched and informative for clients, colleagues, and government officials and staff.
  • A genuine teammate. You share credit, share information, and make the people around you better.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of combined experience across government and the private sector in financial services policy, regulation, or government affairs
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of: digital assets and crypto regulation, securities and derivatives market structure, payments and stablecoins, or banking policy.
  • Excellent writing skills — you can turn a 300-page rulemaking into one page a CEO will actually read
  • AI fluency
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based compensation.
  • Strong incentives around new client business
  • Leadership on client work on day one.
