Position Overview
An Oahu-based nonprofit focused on environmental stewardship, service learning, and youth leadership development is seeking a Vice President of Philanthropy to lead its organization-wide fundraising strategy and revenue growth. This executive role partners closely with the CEO and Board to build a diversified, sustainable funding model that supports long-term mission impact across the state.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the organization’s overall fundraising strategy, including major gifts, institutional funding, corporate partnerships, annual giving, events, and planned/legacy giving
- Manage and personally cultivate a portfolio of high-capacity donors, including solicitation and stewardship of major and principal gifts
- Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to strengthen donor engagement and support fundraising efforts
- Develop and implement multi-year development plans and revenue projections aligned with organizational goals
- Oversee institutional giving strategy, including foundation, corporate, and government funding
- Build and manage a high-performing fundraising team, including setting goals, tracking performance, and developing staff
- Establish and monitor fundraising KPIs, reporting, and CRM systems to support data-driven decision making
- Represent the organization externally at community, civic, and philanthropic events

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred
- 10+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including senior leadership experience
- Demonstrated success securing and closing six- and seven-figure gifts
- Experience developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies
- Experience working closely with senior leadership and Boards of Directors
- Strong understanding of nonprofit finance, budgeting, and revenue planning
- Experience in youth development, education, conservation, or mission-driven nonprofit sectors preferred
