Duties Summary
Plans, develops, promotes, monitors, and coordinates the implementation of county‑wide recycling and waste diversion programs; and performs other related duties as required.
Qualification Requirements
- Training and
Experience:
Combination of education and experience equivalent to a baccalaureate degree in business, public administration, urban planning, civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, social psychology, or a related field, plus 2½ years of professional experience in development, supervision, or implementation of recycling, waste reduction, or waste recovery programs, including experience in publicity campaigns or programs.
- License Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (as applicable).
- Knowledge of: principles and practices of administration; public relations; human behavior; recycling and waste reduction techniques, laws, and regulations; recycling education and promotion principles; trends and developments in recycling; environmental health issues; government and community organization functions; research methods; report writing.
- Ability to: plan, develop, and coordinate recycling information, education, and promotion programs; interpret laws and regulations; organize, plan, coordinate, and monitor projects; work effectively with others; communicate orally and in writing with a variety of public segments; provide technical assistance; evaluate operations and implement changes; prepare analytical reports with recommendations.

Required Pre‑Employment Screening
