Step into a rewarding role as a part-time Building Inspector. Your expertise will be crucial in enforcing compliance with building regulations while working a flexible 15-hour week.
This position works under the direction of the Building and Development Officer, where you will ensure adherence to building, plumbing, and fire codes. You will be responsible for issuing permits, conducting inspections, and advising builders and contractors on the applicable regulations. Through your diligent record-keeping and reporting, you will contribute to the enhanced safety and development of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce safety and building codes effectively
• Conduct various building inspections
• Issue necessary development and plumbing permits
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and records
• Support council on zoning regulation amendments
Requirements:
• Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) preferred
• College Certificate in building trades
• Knowledge of Manitoba building regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid class 5 driver’s license required
