We are expanding our external partnerships and are looking for someone who understands how government and defense ecosystems function in practice.
We are seeking a Business Development Associate to support growth across government, defense, and adjacent institutional sectors. This role centers on identifying, developing, and helping close strategic opportunities, particularly within defense and military-linked programs, government contractors and integrators, multilateral or aid-funded initiatives, and public sector innovation programs. You will play an important role in helping Lagrange build and maintain relationships that lead to real deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and pursuing relevant government and defense opportunities
- Building and maintaining relationships with decision-makers and influencers
- Introducing Lagrange’s capabilities to potential partners and customers
- Driving outreach and early-stage deal development
- Contributing to engagement strategy for institutional stakeholders
- Tracking and managing opportunity pipelines
- Collaborating with leadership on go-to-market direction
Success in this role means consistently turning conversations into structured, actionable opportunities.
We are interested in candidates who bring experience working within relevant institutional environments and/or an existing network across them:
- Defense organizations or military service
- Government agencies
- Federal contractors or integrators
- International or aid-funded programs
- Washington DC-based consulting
- Federal business operations or program management

Who You Are
- Minimum 4 years experience in a business development or partnerships role, ideally within defense, government, or adjacent institutional environments.
- Experience working with or selling into DoW (DOD), federal agencies, or defense primes and integrators
- Strong understanding of how government programs, procurement processes, and contracting structures operate in practice
- Proven ability to build relationships and progress opportunities from early conversations to structured engagements
- Comfortable operating across both formal institutional environments and fast-moving technical teams
- Self-directed and proactive and a strong desire for accountability over outcomes especially in fast-evolving industries.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, distributed systems, or cryptographic systems (blockchain experience is a plus)
