Founded in late 2019 by former Macquarie Bank colleagues, the firm commenced operations in early 2021 and currently has a team of ~36. The firm is headquartered in Hong Kong with additional presence in Sydney, Australia.

ActusRayPartners has a collaboration agreement with Sun Hung Kai & Co. Limited, a Hong Kong listed financial services company (86.HK) and we co-locate in their headquarters. The firm’s underlying clients include a government reserve fund, global financial institutions, pension (ERISA) funds, private banks, and family offices.

ActusRayPartners was nominated as 1 of 50 “Tomorrow’s Titans” by the hedge fund journal in 2021. Subsequently have won or been nominated for performance awards, for one or more strategies in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Our investment process is called Discretionary Probabilistic Investing. Currently we apply this to creating alpha in equity markets across Asia and Europe. We may expand into the Americas in the future and are selectively offering long-only versions of our work. The investment process has a quantitative framework focusing on stock selection, which incorporates a highly differentiated style of discretion, applied across a very large number of positions.

Job Description:

With continued business growth, ActusRayPartners is seeking a Business Manager to join our Investment Services team with a focus on data.

Responsibilities include:

  • Representing the firm professionally in internal and external correspondence, with stakeholders including existing and prospective clients, business partners, fund directors and service providers.
  • Developing and maintaining client-related risk registers, including investor registers, monitoring of strategy capacity, and performance and fees spreadsheets.
  • Conducting detailed analysis and proactive monitoring on investor flows, returns, strategy capacity and fees across our clients and funds.
  • Assisting with the analytical and data driven aspects of marketing and business materials, including the creation of relevant charts and presentations (e.g. monthly performance factsheets).
  • Assisting with client onboarding and relationship management within the broader Investment Services team, beginning at investor indication of interest and continuing throughout the client relationship.
  • Assisting in the development of new products by conducting guided background research and analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • 3-5 years’ experience ideally in investment consulting, securities industry, or asset management, with a focus on data management and analytics.
  • CFA is an advantage.
  • Actuarial training also an advantage.
  • Proficiency and extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
  • Strong numerical skills; intuitive understanding of numbers. Statistical knowledge an advantage.
  • Native fluency in spoken and written English.

This role may suit the following types of people:

  • Actuarial student who is interested in investments, good with numbers but wants a more client-facing role.
  • Analyst / fund manager trainee who has decided not to become an analyst or portfolio manager but want to stay “close to the action”; ability to use their modelling Excel skills in a more client-facing rather than market-facing manner.
  • Statistician / data analyst (or related university degree) who wants to do more than just crunch numbers and has the personality to interact with people.
