RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: CHHD

The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies, in this case projects in the domain of hereditary cancer in children and adults, including a multi-site longitudinal research registry.

The incumbent will collaborate with investigators and other sites to assume responsibility for the coordination of data entry and ensure active follow-up of participants.

General Duties

Recruiting patients for research registry,

  • Obtains consent from patients for participation in research registry and related projects,
  • Performs data entry,
  • Organizes and queries data as needed,
  • Ensures follow-up of participant information,
  • Reviews patient charts or other relevant sources,
  • Ensures research and ethics compliance.

Education / Experience

Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Health or Data Sciences

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree in Health or Data Science related field

Work Experience: Minimum one year experience preferred

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
  • An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients who are exclusively proficient in English.
  • Autonomous, flexible, sense of ethics and good judgment,
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritizing time sensitive issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision,
  • Ability to generate and maintain accurate records,
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills,
  • Decision making,
  • Evaluating patient care.
  • While the investigator is the main person responsible for his/her study, the incumbent must ensure protocol compliance including participant eligibility,
  • Clinical research experience and training is an asset,
  • Experience with REDCap, Excel is an important asset.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve Blvd.

☒ This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (on-site and remote).

Additional specifications: We anticipate a majority of the working schedule will be on site.
