Job Context
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activities, including export-import documentation, L/C management, and liaison with banks and customs authorities. The ideal candidate must ensure smooth operational flow and compliance with national and international trade regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- This role is for HOD of Commercial Department. In short, role will include 100% documentation of export invoices with it relevant with supporting supporting docs. Record keeping and report generation. Follow up on Import, UD and Banking related quarries.
- Banking & L/C Management: Handle all banking formalities, including opening, amendment, and negotiation of Export/Import L/Cs (Back-to-Back, Sight, Deferred).
- Documentation: Oversee the preparation and processing of shipping documents, Bill of Lading, GSP, CO, and other regulatory paperwork.
- Customs & Logistics: Coordinate with C&F agents and freight forwarders for timely release and shipment of goods. Ensure compliance with customs regulations and bonded warehouse formalities.
- Sourcing & Procurement: Monitor procurement processes and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.
- Incentive Management: Manage and follow up on cash incentives and other government subsidies related to exports.
- Coordination: Collaborate with the Production, Finance, and Marketing departments to ensure timely shipments and payment realizations.
- Compliance: Ensure all commercial activities align with Bangladesh Bank guidelines and the Export-Import Policy of Bangladesh.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Finance
- Masters
- Master’s/MBA in Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related discipline from a reputed university.
- Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management or International Trade will be considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- 10 to 15 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Garments
Additional Requirements
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in the Commercial department of a large-scale manufacturing unit (RMG preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in a managerial position.
Additional Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of UP (Utilization Permission) and UD (Utilization Declaration) processes.
- MS Office (Excel/Word).
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
