We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Commercial Manager to lead our Grocery Division and drive sustainable growth, profitability, and market leadership.

Position Overview

The Commercial Manager – Grocery Division will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy of the grocery business, maximizing profitability, strengthening supplier partnerships, optimizing product assortment, and enhancing customer basket value through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Profitability

  • Own and manage the division’s profit and loss (P&L) performance.
  • Monitor gross profit margins and commercial costs, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies that balance profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Evaluate the commercial viability of introducing or discontinuing product categories and SKUs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margins, and operational efficiency.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead strategic negotiations with key suppliers, distributors, and exclusive agents to secure the best purchasing terms and volume discounts.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business growth.
  • Negotiate trade marketing agreements and supplier-funded promotional campaigns.
  • Oversee inventory planning to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock and working capital requirements.

Sales & Category Management

  • Analyze category performance and customer demand trends to optimize product assortment.
  • Lead category management initiatives to expand high-performing categories and improve underperforming ones.
  • Oversee in-app merchandising, product placement, promotions, and customer shopping experience.
  • Design, approve, and evaluate promotional campaigns to maximize sales while protecting profitability.

Market & Consumer Analytics

  • Analyze customer behavior and purchasing patterns to increase order frequency and average basket size.
  • Monitor competitors’ pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies on a regular basis.
  • Leverage data and market insights to support strategic commercial decisions.
  • Prepare and present commercial performance reports and growth recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Commercial Management, Retail, FMCG, E-commerce, or Grocery Operations.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and category management.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting.
