About This Opportunity
Rikka is recruiting qualified Paralegals on behalf of a federal contractor for a large-scale administrative adjudication engagement supporting the Department of Education. This is structured, high-volume legal support work requiring analytical precision, advanced data management skills in Excel, and the ability to organize complex evidence within defined regulatory and performance frameworks.
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week anticipated)
Key Responsibilities
- Evidence Management: Aggregate, index, and organize evidence from law enforcement and federal agencies following specific protocols.
- Document Review: Categorize allegations in applications and assist attorneys with substantive document review and pattern analysis.
- Data Analysis: Perform moderately complex analysis using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas) to support attorney work product.
- Case Coordination: Manage outreach to external agencies, triage incoming requests, and initiate school notification processes per federal regulations.
- Quality Control: Conduct non-substantive reviews of attorney work product for formatting and typographical accuracy.
- Reporting: Support the Project Manager in preparing Weekly Status Reports and other key deliverables.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Graduation from an ABA-approved paralegal program, OR certification (NFPA/NALA), OR 3+ years of significant paralegal experience in a law firm or government agency.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with Westlaw and document review databases (e.g., Relativity).
- Excel Mastery: Ability to run complex formulas and pivot tables is a must.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain federal credentialing and identity verification. Active Government Public Trust Tier 4 level clearance is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience supporting federal government contracts or administrative proceedings.
- Experience with Salesforce or other case management systems.
- Proven track record handling PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information).
Work Environment
- Fully remote (must be U.S.-based)
- Government-furnished equipment provided upon clearance
- Initial 100% quality control review period before transition to standard monitoring
