between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm.

Under the administrative direction of the Commission Chairman, the employee in this position assists the County Commission Chairman in areas of

County Operations Management by providing and promoting effective and efficient management of the County through professional practices to facilitate efficient Departmental and County operations;

acts as the Chief Financial Officer of the Jackson County Commission, administers and prepares the county budget, oversees the management of county funds, maintains official records, and performs other duties related to financial management and legal administration;

provides administrative support, maintains records and minutes, assists with resolutions, and conducts research in order to impart advice and aid to the County Commission;

serves as the designated Public Officer to receive and respond to all requests for public records;

and provides managerial oversight and supervision of employees by establishing priorities and ensuring goals and objectives are met.

Education and experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration with at least (5) years of experience in accounting, financial management, or bookkeeping, three (3) of which are preferred in local government.

Previous work experience in management and supervision, and ability to accomplish the Certified County Administrator (CCA) designation within four (4) years of employment in the job.

The Administrator position is an exempt position.

Minimum Starting Salary

$100K (negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
