About the Role
Our Client is seeking an Interim Deputy Director to temporarily strengthen its leadership team.
You will be part of a two-person Directorate (expanding temporarily to three), working closely with the General Director, Management Team, and Executive Board.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
- Act as a member of the Management Board, jointly responsible for organizational leadership
- Provide direct leadership to Team Leaders and Task Manager
- Serve as a sparring partner within the Board, ensuring unified leadership
Strategic & Organizational Development
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable outcomes
- Co-lead the development and implementation of organizational strategy
- Play a key role in the Management Team (MT) development program
- Drive organizational development and professionalization initiatives
People & Culture
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability
- Coach and empower team leaders with trust, autonomy, and frameworks
- Promote an open, learning-oriented work environment
Key Objectives
- Strengthen management capacity during transition period
- Ensure continuity in leadership and governance
- Support embedding of new directorate structure
- Balance organizational demands with employee development and wellbeing
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a strategic management or executive role within a government or public sector organization
- Strong track record in organizational development and change management
- Experience working in complex administrative / political environments
Core Competencies
- High level of political sensitivity and stakeholder management
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities
- Ability to translate strategy into execution
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Education & Certifications
- Relevant academic qualifications (completed)
- Additional leadership / governance certifications preferred
