About Kodamai
Kodamai is an AI software company building the Kelvingrove Platform — an enterprise-grade agentic infrastructure solution grounded in category theory, type theory, and neuro-symbolic AI. Our platform enables large organizations to deploy, govern, and scale autonomous AI agents with formal verifiability and auditability. Kodamai operates globally, with a growing presence in the Gulf region anchored by a live production deployment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Role Overview
The Director, Saudi Arabia is a senior, dual-mandate role combining in-country operational leadership with commercial development responsibility. This individual will serve as Kodamai's most senior on-the-ground representative in the Kingdom, accountable for establishing and running a credible, professional local presence while actively building relationships with enterprise clients, government entities, and strategic partners.
This is not a purely administrative role, nor a purely a sales role. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing the practicalities of a remote office — licensing, compliance, vendor relationships, logistics — and representing Kodamai in commercial and government conversations. They will be a trusted extension of the CRO and the broader leadership team, acting with autonomy while maintaining tight alignment with corporate strategy.
Context & Reporting Relationship
Kodamai's CRO is based outside the Kingdom. This reporting line reflects the commercial importance of the Saudi market and the expectation that this role will contribute directly to revenue growth, not just operational support. The Director will need to manage being close to the local market while executing against a strategy set at HQ — and to surface issues, opportunities, and market intelligence proactively.
The CRO will provide strategic direction, deal support, and executive escalation. Day-to-day decisions — operational and early-stage commercial — rest with the Director. Strong written and verbal communication habits, comfort with asynchronous collaboration across time zones, and the ability to work with a degree of autonomy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Office & Operations Management
- Establish and maintain Kodamai's operational presence in Riyadh/KSA, including commercial registration, licensing, and compliance with Saudi regulations (e.g., MISA requirements, Saudization obligations).
- Manage day-to-day office operations: facilities, vendor contracts, IT infrastructure, and administrative functions.
- Oversee in-country administration, including expense management, invoice processing, and liaison with external services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulatory requirements and proactively flag any compliance risks to the CRO and COO.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government authorities, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Develop and execute a local market development plan aligned with Kodamai's global GTM strategy, with a focus on large enterprise and government accounts.
- Build and maintain a network of senior relationships across target sectors including financial services, energy, government, healthcare, and industrial.
- Identify, qualify, and develop pipeline opportunities, working in close coordination with the CRO and the sales team.
- Represent Kodamai at industry events, government forums, and trade associations as appropriate.
- Support formal RFP and procurement processes common in the Saudi public sector, including coordinating local partner engagement where required.
- Serve as the in-country face of Kodamai in client meetings, ensuring consistent, compelling representation of the Kelvingrove Platform's value proposition.
Strategic Intelligence & Communication
- Act as Kodamai's eyes and ears in the Saudi market — providing regular market intelligence to the CRO on competitive activity, customer sentiment, regulatory developments, and sector trends.
- Maintain a clear, shared view of pipeline status, account progress, and operational metrics through regular reporting cadences.
- Identify and recommend local partnership opportunities (systems integrators, advisory firms, government-affiliated entities) that could accelerate market penetration.
- Flag risks — regulatory, reputational, or commercial — early and constructively.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 4–5 years in a role that combined operational responsibility with commercial or business development activity.
- Demonstrated experience managing a branch, remote office, or in-country operation on behalf of a foreign company in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC.
- Deep familiarity with the Saudi business environment: regulatory frameworks, cultural norms, public sector procurement, and the role of government and semi-government institutions as clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building and sustaining senior-level relationships in Saudi Arabia — government, NGO, and large enterprise.
- Experience working cross-functionally and cross-culturally within a global organization, including comfort with remote management and asynchronous communication.
- Strong commercial instincts: ability to assess opportunities, qualify pipeline, and contribute meaningfully to deal strategy.
- Native or fluent Arabic; professional-level English (both written and verbal).
- Saudi nationals and permanent residents strongly preferred. Candidates with long-term residency in the Kingdom will be considered.
Preferred
- Prior experience in enterprise technology, SaaS, AI, or related sectors — either as a seller, operator, or buyer.
- Familiarity with Vision 2030 priority sectors and major government-linked entities (e.g., Aramco, PIF, NEOM, SDAIA).
- Experience supporting enterprise software evaluations, RFPs, or complex procurement cycles.
- Existing network at the CTO, CIO, CDO, or senior technology leadership level in target sectors.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA is an advantage.
This is a foundational hire for Kodamai's presence in Saudi Arabia. The right candidate will shape how the company is perceived in the Kingdom for years to come. We are looking for someone who sees building something from the ground up as an opportunity.
