Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise compliance with building, fire, and safety codes
• Enforce and interpret building standards and regulations
• Advise on building requirements for city-owned properties
• Lead investigations of non-compliance issues
• Manage a team of unionized building officials
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in architecture or engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years of relevant inspection experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of building enforcement procedures
• Registration with APEGBC, AIBC, or BOABC required
• Strong leadership and communication capabilities
