As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Inspector-General, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the operational management of the Office of the IGEM, strategic policy, planning and reporting requirements, and transformation initiatives to support the strategic objectives and vision of the Office of the IGEM.

The Director, Strategy and Performance provides executive leadership in shaping organisational strategy, governance, and performance, enabling the Inspector-General and the Office of the IGEM to operate with integrity, independence, and impact.

Your Key Accountabilities Include

  • Lead the research, development, implementation and delivery of strategic initiatives, plans and organisational priorities aligned to IGEM's statutory responsibilities and objectives.
  • Provide authoritative, timely and independent strategic advice, research and high-quality briefings, submissions and reports to support executive and ministerial decision-making.
  • Oversee and continuously improve governance, risk management and evaluation frameworks to ensure organisational performance, accountability, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships and represent the Inspector-General at senior forums to influence policy, sector reform and whole-of-government outcomes.
  • Represent the Inspector-General and negotiate on behalf of the Inspector- General at senior inter and intra agency forums, committees and meetings, contributing to whole of government initiatives and influencing policy, strategy and operational outcomes.
  • Lead a high-performing, ethical and inclusive culture by fostering leadership capability, professional development, and organisational change aligned to strategic priorities.
