The External Relations Manager – Netherlands is responsible for owning and driving the company’s external relations agenda in Netherlands, including government engagement, regulatory alignment, and key stakeholder relationships.
This role operates with a high degree of autonomy in the Netherlands market and acts as the company’s primary external relations representative locally. The role works in close coordination with the Director External Relations and regional leadership to ensure strategic alignment across markets.
The position is critical to ensuring a successful market entry and establishing a strong, credible presence in Norway.
Key Responsibilities
Government & Regulatory Affairs
● Build, own, and maintain relationships with Netherlands government authorities at municipal and national level
● Monitor regulatory and policy developments and proactively advise on potential business impact ● Drive and coordinate licensing processes, permits, and regulatory approvals required for operations in Netherlands
● Represent the company in meetings with public authorities, consultations, and relevant policy forums Compliance & Market Readiness
● Ensure alignment with Netherlands regulatory requirements relevant to EV mobility and transport operations
● Work closely with Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams to address regulatory matters
● Play a key role in market entry planning from a local regulatory and stakeholder perspective
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
● Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including public institutions, industry associations, and local partners
● Manage local external communications related to public affairs and operational matters
● Represent the company at industry events, public forums, and stakeholder meetings in Netherlands Reputation & Issue Management
● Handle external issues and stakeholder inquiries in coordination with internal teams and in alignment with the Director External Relations
● Support proactive stakeholder engagement and communication strategies
● Contribute to safeguarding and strengthening the company’s reputation in the Netherlands market
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Business, or a related field
● 4–7 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, regulatory affairs, external relations or related fields
● Experience working with Netherlands public institutions or regulatory frameworks is highly preferred
● Understanding of transport, mobility, or infrastructure sectors is an advantage
● Proven ability to independently manage stakeholder relationships and represent an organization externally
● Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills
● Ability to engage credibly with public authorities and senior stakeholders
● Ability to operate independently and take ownership in a fast-moving and international environment
● Fluency in Dutch and English
