About The Role

Join Ku-ring-gai Council as a Governance Officer and play a pivotal role in supporting transparent, accountable decision-making that impacts the community every day.

This is your opportunity to work alongside senior leaders and elected representatives, ensuring Council operates with integrity, precision, and professionalism.

Your Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Coordinate and publish Council agendas, business papers and minutes using meeting management systems
  • Attend Council meetings and produce accurate, professional minutes in line with required standards
  • Manage resolution tracking and ensure timely follow-up of Council decisions
  • Maintain governance policies, delegations and statutory registers to ensure compliance
  • Process information access applications in accordance with legislation
  • Provide governance advice, prepare reports and support stakeholders across Council

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in governance, law, business or a related field or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills with the ability to produce complex, high-quality documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders and elected officials
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong focus on quality outputs
  • Professional judgement, discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
