JAFCO is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Grant Writer to lead and manage all grant-related activities across the organization. This role is central to advancing our work—supporting children and families impacted by abuse, neglect, trauma, and developmental disabilities—by securing and stewarding critical funding.
This position works across all JAFCO programs, including the Children’s Village, Children’s Ability Center, Eagles’ Haven, and Family Matters, ensuring alignment with our mission and long-term growth strategy.
What You’ll Do
• Build and manage a comprehensive grant pipeline across foundation, corporate, and government sources
• Identify new funding opportunities aligned with program needs and strategic priorities
• Develop annual and multi-year grant strategies in partnership with leadership
• Maintain a detailed grants calendar including deadlines, renewals, and reporting requirements
• Write compelling, high-quality grant proposals, LOIs, and applications
• Translate program impact into clear, data-driven narratives
• Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather outcomes, budgets, and supporting materials
• Ensure submissions are accurate, complete, and aligned with funder priorities
• Prepare and submit timely programmatic and financial reports
• Track outcomes and ensure compliance with all funder requirements
• Maintain thorough documentation of grant activity and reporting
• Utilize database tools to track grant performance and pipeline activity
• Support broader development operations, including donor and grant processing as needed
• Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional funders
• Coordinate site visits, tours, and engagement opportunities
• Develop stewardship strategies to support renewals and long-term partnerships
• Partner across programs to support integrated funding opportunities and cross-program proposals
• Align grant strategy with broader organizational and development goals
Who You Are
• Strong writer with the ability to translate complex program work into compelling narratives
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines
• Strategic thinker who can build and manage a funding pipeline
• Collaborative and comfortable working across teams
• Experience with grant writing, reporting, and funder relationship management preferred
