We are seeking individuals qualified to work as a Grants Managment Specialist to support the mission of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

Duties Include:

  • Assist with reviewing competing and non-competing grant applications for accuracy, completeness, and readiness for processing.
  • Ensure applications, progress reports, and award actions conform to Institute policy, Federal regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct administrative and financial reviews, including budget analysis for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and current funding levels.
  • Support pre-award and post-award activities, coordinate simple funding actions, and help prepare grant awards for final processing and approval.
  • Prepare Excel budget spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and produce reports to track award status, funding, and grant activity.
  • Maintain official grant files, prepare electronic documentation, and upload records into IMPAC II eGrants systems.
  • Draft and initiate correspondence with applicants, grantees, Program Officers, and Sponsored Research Administrators regarding questions, issues, policy clarification, and requests for additional information.
  • Identify issues that may delay awards, resolve grant-related problems, and provide routine updates and administrative guidance to staff.
  • Contribute to developing and revising grants management procedures, award terms, and policy-related processes to improve review and approval workflows.

Field of Study

  • BS or BA degree and 3 years of relevant federal grants management experience.
