Must have experience in the Construction Project Financial Management, ideally hospitality (Hotel Resort, Restaurant, Casino or similar) projects.

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic financial leader to oversee all development-phase activities for a premier, large-scale landmark project in Athens. As the Director of Development Finance, you will be the lead for project-level accounting, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity and profitability of the development. You will implement robust financial controls, monitor performance against budgets, and ensure full compliance with international standards and local Greek regulations. You will act as a key partner to executive leadership, construction partners, and corporate finance to optimize financial outcomes and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Lead the development and ongoing management of project-level budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range financial strategies.
  • Financial Reporting & Project Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze cost trends and project variances to provide actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Leadership & Oversight: Manage and mentor the finance and project accounting teams, promoting a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies, international accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as a primary financial advisor to the CFO and board committees. Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and legal advisors.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Proven track record supporting large-scale development, construction, hospitality, or real estate projects.
  • Local Expertise: Strong familiarity with the Greek regulatory and financial environment, including experience working with local banks and government authorities.
  • Languages: Native or professional fluency in both Greek and English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex financial landscapes in a fast-paced environment.
