Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted HR partner, providing guidance on employee relations, labor law, and compliance matters.
- Manage employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace disputes.
- Maintain relationships with the Labor Office and other government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support and improve HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, and performance management.
- Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with business objectives and local regulations.
- Advise managers on employee matters, contract renewals, disciplinary actions, and separation processes.
- Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement, retention, and talent development initiatives.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Stay up to date with labor law developments and HR best practices.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
- Knowledge of Japanese labor laws and employment regulations.
- Experience working with the Labor Office and relevant government agencies.
- Native / Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) and business-level English.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex HR matters with confidence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Employee Relations (ER) or labor compliance.
- Exposure to HR projects, process improvement, or change management initiatives.
