Job description:
- Industrial Expertise: Develop an in-depth understanding of specific industries/sectors (e.g., manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, etc.) and their respective decarbonization challenges, opportunities, and regulatory frameworks.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments of clients' current carbon footprint, energy usage, and sustainability goals to identify opportunities for decarbonization and resource efficiency improvements.
- Tailored Solutions: Design and present customized decarbonization solution for each industry/sector by leveraging sector-specific knowledge and available technologies, practices, and incentives.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including relationship managers, product specialists, and sustainability teams, to ensure alignment of decarbonization initiatives with banking products and services and be able to effectively engage with corporate clients.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with industrial/sectoral associations, technology providers, government entities, and other relevant stakeholders to stay updated on sector-specific trends, policies, and emerging opportunities.
- Thought Leadership: Stay informed about the latest developments in decarbonization technologies, industry/sector best practices, and regulatory changes to provide clients with expert guidance and insights.
- Knowledge Sharing: Develop and deliver industry/sector-specific training and educational materials to clients, relationship managers, and other relevant bank staff to increase awareness and understanding of decarbonization strategies.
- Impact Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring frameworks to track the progress and impact of decarbonization initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration Opportunities: Identify opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing among clients, facilitating the exchange of best practices and fostering a community of sustainability leaders.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and financing mechanisms relevant to industry/sector-specific decarbonization efforts, ensuring the bank remains at the forefront of sustainable finance.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, business, finance, or a related field. A candidate with a Ph.D. level in scientific fields is also welcome to apply
- Experience in banking, sustainability, or a relevant industry/sector, with a strong focus on decarbonization and sustainable practices
- Expertise in one or more specific industries/sectors (e.g., manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, etc.) and familiarity with sector-specific challenges, regulations, and decarbonization strategies
- Strong understanding of climate change, environmental sustainability, and the financial implications of decarbonization efforts
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations for decarbonization
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, industry associations, and other external partners
- Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines
- Familiarity with sustainable finance, green investment products, and relevant international standards and frameworks
- A self-motivated and proactive approach with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental impact
