Role Description
This full-time, on-site Project Manager role is based in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. The Project Manager serves as the primary bridge between Sadat Tech's clients and its development teams. The role involves meeting clients online through video calls to understand their needs, gather requirements, and clearly communicate scope, timelines, and expectations. The Project Manager translates client goals into well-defined, actionable tasks, breaks larger initiatives into manageable pieces, and clearly explains each task to the developers working on the related projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and prioritizing work, assigning and tracking tasks, monitoring progress and deadlines, removing blockers, and keeping both clients and internal teams aligned. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the quality standards Sadat Tech is known for, while maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, conducting online video meetings to understand their needs and expectations.
- Gather, clarify, and document project requirements, then translate them into clear technical tasks and specifications.
- Break down projects into structured tasks and milestones, and assign them to the appropriate developers.
- Clearly explain requirements and priorities to the development team, ensuring everyone understands what is expected.
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, deliverables, and progress across multiple projects.
- Proactively identify risks and blockers, and coordinate solutions to keep projects on track.
- Provide regular, transparent updates to clients and internal stakeholders on status, progress, and next steps.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between clients, developers, designers, and other teams.
- Maintain project documentation and support continuous improvement of workflows and delivery quality.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills — outstanding, articulate, and professional verbal and written communication, with the ability to build trust and manage client relationships confidently.
- Fluent English — strong spoken and written English is essential for client-facing video calls and documentation; fluency in Pashto or Dari is required for internal coordination.
- Requirement understanding — a proven ability to listen to clients, understand their real needs, and translate them into clear, actionable plans.
- Project organization — strong skills in planning, prioritizing, breaking down work, and managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Team coordination — ability to clearly delegate and explain tasks to developers and keep cross-functional teams aligned and productive.
- Tools — familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, ClickUp, Asana, or Notion) and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams).
- Problem-solving — a proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Commitment — willingness to work full-time and on-site in Kabul Province, Afghanistan.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Client/Account Manager in a software or IT company.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- A technical background or the ability to comfortably discuss technical concepts with both clients and developers.
- Experience working with international clients or in consulting, enterprise, or agency environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, or Agile/Scrum certifications).
