He angitūtanga: The opportunity

B ased in Central City Library this exciting opportunity plays an important role in ensuring Aucklanders have access to high-quality library collections, digital resources and technologies.

This is a unique role that offers a combination of procurement, collections, copyright, and relationship management work. Working alongside a skilled and experienced team of librarians, you will contribute to the delivery of outstanding collections and digital services across New Zealand's largest public library network, helping ensure we meet the diverse needs of Aucklanders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Library and Learning Services input into procurement and contract renewal processes for collections resources and selected library technologies
  • Support Managers and staff in the preparation of procurement plans, RfX documents, supplier recommendation reports, contract budgets, business cases and contract terms
  • Ensure contracts and purchase orders for collection resources and selected library technologies are in place and accurately recorded within Council systems.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support kaimahi in effective contract management, supplier performance management, and financial review practices
  • Ensure up-to-date and timely advice and support is provided to library staff on matters relating to copyright, licensing and rights management
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry, supplier, and market developments, assessing implications for library services, contracts, and licensing arrangements

You will bring:

  • A degree in Library and Information Studies, Business, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years’ experience working with library collections.
  • Knowledge of copyright, licensing, information access rights, privacy and data issues.
  • Experience in supplier contract management in a large organisation.
  • Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
