Role Summary
We're seeking a strategically minded operations or business professional with 3-5 years of proven experience to join our Operations and Strategy team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a rotational position designed for someone ready to expand their impact beyond a single functional area and develop the broad business acumen required for senior leadership.
Over 18-24 months, you'll rotate through key functions (operations, supply chain, R&D coordination, strategic planning) to deepen your understanding of how an advanced manufacturing and energy technology company scales. You'll move beyond execution into strategic analysis and business impact—contributing at a level that shapes decisions, not just supports them.
This role bridges individual contributor excellence with leadership development. If you've proven yourself in one domain and are ready to build the cross-functional perspective needed for a P&L leadership or Chief of Staff-track role, this is your opportunity to do that while working directly with an executive team executing a scaled growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis & Modeling
- Lead development of financial and operational models that directly inform executive decision-making and capital allocation
- Analyze cross-functional data to identify systemic bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or strategic opportunities—and drive recommendations through implementation
- Own strategic analytics projects that require integrating data from multiple functions (manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, finance)
- Prepare high-impact analysis and presentations for C-suite and board-level stakeholders on key metrics, competitive positioning, and strategic trade-offs
- Support long-range strategic planning, scenario modeling, and business case development for major initiatives
Rotational Leadership
- Lead cost and efficiency analysis; own strategic initiatives around throughput, capacity planning, and capital deployment
- Develop sourcing strategies, conduct supplier risk assessments, model supply chain resilience and integration opportunities
- Prioritize innovation pipeline, align R&D roadmap with commercial strategy, track and report on technology milestones
- Lead strategic initiatives around partnerships, market expansion, new business models; support capital raise strategy
- Analyze policy landscape and regulatory impacts; support government relations strategy; identify partnership opportunities
Qualifications
Required
- 3-5 years of professional experience in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, business strategy, or related field
- Demonstrated success owning strategic projects and driving cross-functional initiatives to completion
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills (financial modeling, data analysis, statistical thinking)
- Ability to translate complex operational or strategic challenges into clear recommendations and actionable plans
- Track record of generating business impact beyond your immediate function
- Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leadership
- Self-directed and strategic mindset; you think about how decisions connect to broader business outcomes
- Ability and willingness to travel 30%-50%
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, energy, advanced technology, or similar capital-intensive industries
- Background in operations, supply chain, business development, or strategy (vs. finance or HR)
- Experience scaling operations in a growth company or scaling environment
- Technical background (engineering, materials science, physics) or MBA/equivalent business training
- Exposure to innovation management, R&D coordination, or technology commercialization
- Understanding of capital markets, fundraising processes, or investor relations
- Proficiency with data analytics tools (Python, SQL, Tableau, Excel modeling)
