The Platforms Manager acts as the technical custodian of the Appian Platform environment, which hosts OiR’s custom-built enterprise RAPID solution. This role will also act as technical custodian of other supporting platforms that support the RAPID application. The RAPID solution integrates with multiple other technologies in the landscape e.g., SharePoint, Oracle and other legacy systems. You will lead a small team to ensuring RAPID technical ecosystem stability by owning and maintaining the technical backlog required for delivery by the development team.
Reporting to the Director Technology, this role liaises closely with two other Platform Managers and the Delivery Manager; while also engaging with senior Business leaders to plan the roadmap for the application.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Engage with senior leaders to understand business strategy and build an Appian platform roadmap which delivers capability in line with enterprise architecture principles.
- Lead stakeholder meetings that assess the technical viability of the Appian platform as a solution for business requirements, while working to resolve technical issues and forecast items for future implementation.
- Develop, communicate, and manage the governance framework for the Appian platform, with a focus of enabling users to safely exploit features within the platform.
- Manage, measure, and report on performance availability, stability, privacy, and accessibility of the Appian platform to ensure system health.
- Lead a small technical team to respond to Level 2 service requests, working closely with the Service and Support team to support and maintain the existing RAPID system.
- Work with Product Owners to prioritise delivery items and lead the delivery of the technical changes working closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, other Platform Managers, and Vendors.
- Manage risk related to technical operation of the Appian platform including all aspects of application health as well as privacy and liaising with the cyber security manager through the production readiness checklist.
- Forecast and manage funding and vendors for platform maintenance to ensure business continuity and growth of the organisation, identifying emerging threats and solutions to mitigate risk.
