Research Associate – Economic Development Intelligence Jobs in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India at Nueconomy

Title: Research Associate – Economic Development Intelligence

Company: Nueconomy

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

About Nueconomy

Nueconomy is an economic development advisory firm with 18 years of experience advising investment promotion agencies and economic development organisations across the Middle East and Asia. We work on both sides of the investment equation: helping governments and development bodies attract inward investment and grow export pipelines, and helping companies identify and evaluate locations for international expansion. Our work spans investment promotion strategy, export development, and corporate location advisory — grounded in data, built on long-standing client relationships, and delivered without the overhead of a large consultancy.

The Role

We are hiring a Research Associate to join our Bengaluru team at our HSR Layout office. This is a full-time, five-day-a-week, onsite role.

You will support client delivery through secondary research, investment data tracking, and industry analysis — working directly with senior consultants on active mandates across our Middle East and Asia practice.

This position is designed for early-career candidates. If you have more than one to two years of full-time professional experience, this role is not the right fit — the title, scope, and compensation reflect a Research Associate entry point, and we'd rather be upfront about that than waste your time.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse corporate investment activity across target sectors and geographies using secondary research sources
  • Track greenfield investment and corporate expansion activity globally, with dedicated ownership of assigned regions or countries — you will be expected to know your patch
  • Compile and structure industry, company, trade, and macroeconomic data to support client deliverables and internal intelligence platforms
  • Contribute to quarterly investment trend reports and client briefing materials, ensuring accuracy and analytical rigour
  • Maintain and update data registers, company profiles, and research trackers as part of ongoing client delivery

Qualifications

  • Degree in economics, finance, commerce, international business, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with secondary research — sourcing, interpreting, and organising qualitative and quantitative company and industry data
  • Working familiarity with economic, trade, or financial data across industries; exposure to FDI, investment trends, or corporate expansion themes is an advantage
  • High attention to detail and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines with accurate outputs
  • Comfortable working independently on structured tasks while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Clear written communication — you will be producing materials that go directly to government and institutional clients

Who Should Apply

This role is designed for candidates at the start of their careers — fresh graduates or those with up to one to two years of full-time experience. If you have completed a relevant internship of at least six months in research, consulting, economics, or finance and are ready for your first full-time role, we want to hear from you.

If your experience meaningfully exceeds this range, this opening is not the right fit. The role is scoped, titled, and compensated as an entry point — and there is no benefit to either side in pretending otherwise.

Logistics

  • Location: HSR Layout, Bengaluru — onsite, five days a week
  • Start: Immediate preferred
  • Background verification required
