Title: Route Development Analyst

She/he shall be responsible for supporting the strategic growth of the airport’s air service network through comprehensive market analysis, data-driven insights, forecasting, and business case development. This role combines aviation market knowledge with strong data analytics capabilities to identify opportunities for new routes, improve existing services, and support airline partnerships.
*Responsibilities
Route Development & Market Analysis
- Analyze passenger demand, traffic flows, catchment areas, and airline performance to identify opportunities for new or improved routes.
- Monitor global and regional aviation trends, competitive landscapes, and airline strategies.
- Evaluate route viability using industry datasets (e.g., MIDT, OAG, Sabre, DDS).
- Prepare route proposals, business cases, and presentations for airline meetings.
- Support negotiations and air service development initiatives with data-driven insights.
- Support cargo business development through market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and identification of new freight opportunities.
Data Analysis & Forecasting
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to passenger traffic, cargo volumes, airport performance, and airline schedules.
- Develop forecasting models to project passenger demand, revenue potential, and capacity trends.
- Visualize complex data using dashboards and reports (Power BI, Tableau, Excel, etc.).
- Create performance metrics and KPIs for route monitoring and post-launch evaluations.
Stakeholder Support
- Collaborate with commercial, marketing, operations, and planning teams to support strategic airport initiatives.
- Provide detailed analytical support for government relations, tourism boards, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare clear and compelling insights for internal senior management.
Reporting
- Produce monthly traffic performance reports and market intelligence briefs.
- Maintain updated databases and ensure accuracy and integrity of route development data.
*Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in aviation, airline planning, airport route development, or market research.
- Experience as a Data Analyst or similar analytical role is highly desirable.
- Proficient in data analytics tools: Excel (advanced), Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
- Experience with analytical languages: SQL, Python, or R (advantage).
- Familiarity with aviation data sources: OAG, Sabre, MIDT/GDS data, IATA, CAPA, Airport IS, or government statistics.
- Ability to build forecasting models and conduct demand–capacity analysis.
- Strong data visualization and dashboard-building skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical thinking.
- Business acumen with understanding of airline economics.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in presenting data insights.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
