Position Objective
To ensure the organisation maintains full compliance with all applicable regulatory, licensing, legal, and operational requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including Nexus El Salvador and Nexus Mauritius. The role is responsible for managing regulatory filings, licensing matters, compliance monitoring, policy implementation, and supporting legal and operational teams in maintaining a strong compliance framework that aligns with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibility
- Develop and enhance compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Interpret and assess regulatory changes and advise management on compliance implications and required actions.
- Support the implementation of compliance risk management strategies and internal controls.
- Contribute to compliance governance initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
- Manage and maintain regulatory and fiscal licences, permits, registrations, and renewals across relevant jurisdictions.
- Liaise with regulators, government authorities, external legal advisors, and corporate service providers regarding compliance and licensing matters.
- Conduct compliance reviews, monitor activities, and perform periodic assessments to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations.
- Prepare, review, and submit regulatory reports, declarations, and compliance-related documentation.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining compliance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and governance documents.
- Support legal and operational teams on compliance matters arising from day-to-day business activities.
- Investigate compliance breaches, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Operations, Finance, Risk, Human Resources, and Senior Management teams.
- Provide compliance guidance and advisory support to business units.
- Present compliance updates, findings, and management recommendations.
- Serve as a key contact point for regulators, licensing authorities, auditors, external legal counsel, consultants, and corporate service providers.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, inspections, audits, and information requests.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders regarding compliance and licensing matters.
- Ensure all regulatory filings, licence renewals, statutory submissions, and compliance obligations are completed within prescribed deadlines.
- Monitor regulatory developments and implement required actions promptly.
- Maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and documentation accuracy.
- Ensure compliance processes are effective, well-documented, and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver clear, accurate, and practical compliance advice to stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Corporate Governance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ICA, ACAMS, CGSS, CRCM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, legal compliance, corporate governance, licensing, or risk management.
- Experience dealing with regulatory authorities and managing licensing matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exposure to financial services, fintech, digital assets, payment services, or regulated corporate environments is preferred.
- Experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and policy management.
