Job Overview

The Senior Projects Manager is responsible for leading and delivering multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The role involves strategic planning, technical leadership, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Direct and manage all ongoing projects from mobilization through to final handover.
  • Ensure project delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement overall project execution strategies and construction methodologies.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively across all project sites.

Management

  • Lead and supervise Project Managers, Engineers, Planning, QA/QC, Safety, and Procurement teams.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Develop manpower planning and recruitment strategies based on project needs.

Planning & Monitoring

  • Review and approve construction schedules, method statements, risk assessments, and technical submissions.
  • Monitor project progress, critical path activities, and recovery plans to prevent delays.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings to assess performance and implement corrective actions.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Review and interpret contracts, BOQs, specifications, and drawings, including FIDIC conditions.
  • Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, cost reports, and profitability margins.
  • Participate in tender reviews, pricing strategies, and risk analysis.

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify technical, financial, and contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations, project specifications, and international standards.
  • Maintain strict adherence to QA/QC systems and approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

Procurement & Coordination

  • Oversee procurement planning, subcontractor selection, and material approvals.
  • Monitor material requirements and procurement activities across all sites.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA teams for effective interface management.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure implementation of HSE policies and promote a zero-incident culture.
  • Monitor quality control processes to ensure compliance with project standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and government authorities.
  • Represent the company in high-level meetings and negotiations.

Project Close-Out & Reporting

  • Ensure smooth project close-out, including testing, commissioning, documentation, and final accounts.
  • Develop and improve internal systems for reporting, cost control, and performance monitoring.

Strategic Contribution

  • Support senior management in business development, expansion initiatives, and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the UAE/GCC, specifically in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in:
  • Pumping stations and treatment plants
  • Water-retaining structures
  • Underground structures, shoring, and dewatering
  • Strong knowledge of UAE authority standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in:
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Office
  • MS Project / Primavera
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects.
  • Valid UAE driving license.
  • Strong technical, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
