Responsibilities:
• Supervising and leading the survey team to develop the department performance and accuracy.
• Establishment and maintenance of all site survey control stations
• Survey of and computations for ore and waste volumes and surface stockpiles
• Compile and update survey memos and mine plans as required
• Maintenance of all survey equipment
• Survey and plan compilation of as-built areas within the mining lease.
• Maintaining up to date development and stope void solids
• Operation of a drone for surveying on surface and underground
• Diamond drill rig survey markup and pickup
• Updating the Emergency plans every Quarter.
• Hole survey Operations and Reports
• Updating the Surface services for safety seeks.
• Operating and Supervising the Drones flights and processing.
• Surface, underground infrastructure included on master site plan
• Always practice courageous leadership
• Ensure all operations are conducted regarding the use of safe work practices and proper PPE
• Survey and plan compilation of as-built areas within the mining lease
• Maintenance of all survey equipment
• Revising the weekly and monthly reports for the surface and underground
• Liaising with mining contractor’s surveyors and providing ad-hoc assistance with underground development and production survey markup and pickup tasks.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary Qualifications in Geomatic Engineering or Engineering Surveying
• A recognised first aid certificate
• Light vehicle driver’s license
• GACA drone operator license
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years in an underground mining environment.
• Experience with Cavity Monitoring Systems for long hole open stoping
• Experience with operating a drone for surveying purposes
• International experience
• Hole survey experience
• Working with Mining Contractor Companies
Requirements:
• Competent in English (spoken / written).
• Good communication skills – ability to successfully develop effective working relationships.
• High attention to detail – can analyse information and identify errors and gaps
• Computer literacy and skill with mine and ore body modelling and planning software.
• Experience with Deswik and Surpac software.
