Duties Summary
Performs a variety of employment service functions ranging from the simple to moderately complex which do not require the services of a fully trained journeyman specialist; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Legal Authorization To Work Requirement The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Basic Education A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
Specialized Experience Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional work experience in one or a combination of Type A or Type B experience below:
- Type A:
Progressively responsible full‑time experience in the field of Employment service, personnel administration, or related fields which involved one or more of the following duties and responsibilities:- Obtaining applications for employment and assessing applicants’ qualifications.
- Determining job content and requirements.
- Developing methods and techniques for the improvement of personnel or employment programs.
- Referring applicants to suitable jobs.
- Type B:
Progressively responsible professional experience in the field of social work or related fields which involved assisting youths or adults with personal, social, and emotional problems toward their resolution, including counseling or guidance in moderately difficult situations.
Non‑Qualifying Experience Work experience primarily concerned with office management or supervisory roles not focused on employment services, counseling or guidance, or personnel work is not qualifying.
